Dr. Friedman will step into his role March 2. He succeeds Michael Elliott, MD, who served as chief medical officer since 2011, according to a Feb. 20 system news release.
Dr. Friedman joined the system in 2005 as an emergency medicine physician.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to take on this new role and collaborate with my colleagues in a different way than I have in the past,” Dr. Friedman said in the release.
