Augusta University Medical Center selects Dr. Phillip Coule as interim CEO: 5 things to know

Augusta (Ga.) University Medical Center named Phillip Coule, MD, interim CEO, according to The Augusta Chronicle.

Five things to know:

1. Dr. Coule is the hospital’s vice president and CMO.

2. He replaces Lee Ann Liska, who resigned June 6.

3. He previously served as vice chairman of clinical and business operations for the Augusta-based Medical College of Georgia’s department of emergency medicine and hospitalist services.

4. An emergency medicine physician, Dr. Coule serves on the board of directors for the National Disaster Life Support Foundation and the Georgia Regional Academic Community Health Information Exchange.

5. In addition to his medical training, he holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
