Atlantic Health lands chief nursing, chief medical execs from NYC systems

Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health has named Cody Legler, DNP, senior vice president and system chief nursing executive.

Dr. Legler brings more than 15 years of nursing leadership experience across national and regional health systems, according to an Aug. 20 news release. He most recently served as senior vice president and system chief nursing officer at Maimonides Health in New York, where he oversaw nursing operations across three hospitals, a freestanding emergency department, a surgery center, a cancer center and an ambulatory network. Before that, he served as system vice president and chief nursing officer for the perioperative service line at Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health, leading perioperative nursing strategy across the system’s 10 hospitals, six surgery centers and ambulatory sites spanning three states.

The hire comes the same week Atlantic Health named Vicki LoPachin, MD, executive vice president and chief medical officer. Dr. LoPachin most recently served as senior vice president and chief medical officer at New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System.

The back-to-back hires complete Atlantic Health’s top clinical leadership team, bringing in two executives from major New York City health systems in the same week.
