Atlantic Health System announces 4 leadership appointments

Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System announced a number of leadership changes and appointments.

The health system named Karen Flaherty-Oxler, MSN, RN, senior vice president, chief nursing and patient experience executive. She has extensive experience in the U.S. Navy, including serving as deputy surgeon general at Navy Medicine in Washington D.C. She also has experience in other healthcare settings and has served as president and CNO at Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital.

Atlantic Health System’s new vice president of marketing, public relations and communications is Valerie Simon. Ms. Simon most recently served as chief of strategic marketing for Plymouth Rock Assurance.

The health system promoted Steve Maser, MD, to the role of medical director for the entire system’s orthopedic service line. He currently serves as chair of the Atlantic Health System’s Medical Staff Leadership and Development Committee, a subcommittee of the board of trustees.

Atlantic Health System appointed Sheilah O’Halloran vice president of legal affairs and chief legal officer for the system. She has been serving as the system’s interim chief legal officer since December 2015.
