Mr. Park is currently executive vice president and COO of the Watertown, Mass.-based company. He joined the company in 1998 as chief software architect, and in 2007 became chief technology officer.
Athenahealth plans to elect Mr. Park to its board of directors.
Kyle Armbrester, senior vice president and chief product officer, will take over duties for Mr. Park in addition to continuing to lead the inpatient division.
