Astria Regional Medical Center taps Darrin Cook for COO role: 5 things to know

Yakima, Wash.-based Astria Regional Medical Center named Darrin Cook COO, according to a Yakima Herald report.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. Cook most recently served as administrative director of operations of the medical center.

2. He has worked at the hospital since 2015, previously serving as director of physician outreach and recruitment.

3. Prior to joining Astria Regional, he served in numerous leadership roles, including executive director of Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital’s North Star Lodge Cancer Care Center in Yakima.

4. He was also chief clinic coordinator for several family practice clinics in Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth Medical Group’s network.

5. He served as a medical specialist with the U.S. Army.
