Ashley McClellan named CEO of Research Medical Center

Overland Park, Kan.-based HCA Midwest Health has appointed Ashley McClellan CEO of Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Ms. McClellan, who assumed the role July 8, was previously CEO of the Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston. She joined Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare in 2006, serving in numerous executive positions since then, including COO and then CEO of Medical City Lewisville (Texas).

Ms. McClellan is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and won ACHE’s 2018 Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award for young healthcare executive of the year. She has served as vice chair for the March of Dimes Foundation-Houston division and chaired the 2018 March for Babies walk.

She holds an MBA and master’s degree in hospital administration from Texas Woman’s University in Denton.

Ms. McClellan succeeds Jackie DeSouza-Van Blaricum, who left to lead HCA’s Riverside (Calif.) Community Hospital.
