Ascension Michigan selects Northern ministries’ regional president

Ascension Michigan, part of St. Louis-based Ascension, appointed Stephanie Duggan, MD, regional president of its Northern ministries, effective Aug. 6, according to a Midland Daily News report.

In her new role, Dr. Duggan will oversee St. Mary’s of Michigan’s Saginaw and Standish campuses as well as St. Joseph Health System in Tawas City.

Dr. Duggan is currently chief clinical officer at St. Vincent’s Health System in Birmingham, Ala., a role she has held for two years. She formerly served as CMO of Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. Both organizations are a part of Ascension.

Trained as an emergency medicine physician, Dr. Duggan previously provided care at St. Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw. In 2008, she received the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians’ Michigan Emergency Physician of the Year award, according to the report.
