Here are five points:
1. Since 2015, Dr. Henderson has served as vice president of virtual care and innovation for Ascension Texas. Her new role “is not an additional position, but an expansion of the work [Ms. Henderson] has done in her current role within Ascension Texas,” said Karen Springer, president of healthcare operations at Ascension Healthcare, in a statement.
2. She is also a clinical professor of population health at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas-Austin.
3. Her previous experience includes serving as chief telehealth and innovation officer at Jackson-based University of Mississippi Medical Center.
4. She served as a board member of the American Telemedicine Association and executive director of the Mississippi Telehealth Association.
5. In her new role, Dr. Henderson will focus on developing a national approach and solution center for remote care coordination, central referral resources, transfer management and remote patient monitoring, among other services.
