Here are five things to know:
1. Mr. Palazzolo is currently president and CEO of Grand Blanc, Mich.-based Genesys Health System as well as Ascension Michigan’s Northern and Mid-Michigan Ministries.
2. He succeeds Margaret Dimond, PhD, who left to take on the president and CEO roles at McLaren Oakland in Pontiac, Mich.
3. Previously, Mr. Palazzolo served as CFO of Ascension St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit.
4. Betsy Aderholdt is coming out of retirement to serve as interim president of Ascension’s Northern Ministries, as Mr. Palazzolo will be leaving the role once he assumes his new responsibilities at Ascension Crittenton.
5. Ms. Aderholdt retired in 2016 after serving as president of Ascension’s Northern Ministries, after which Mr. Palazzolo took over.
