Asante CFO to Assume CEO Role at Ashland Community Hospital in Oregon

After completing a management agreement, Ashland (Ore.) Community Hospital announced CEO Mark Marchetti will step down to make way for incoming interim CEO Marvin Haas, who currently serves as chief administrative and financial officer of the new operator, Asante, a two-hospital system based in Medford, Ore.

Mr. Marchetti has held Ashland’s CEO role since 2004 and will remain on in a consulting capacity through May 1. Under his leadership, Ashland has built a new outpatient and surgery center, introduced new service lines and improved employee wages and benefits.

Mr. Haas, who will begin his interim role Monday, has held his Asante post for 13 years. He worked previously as vice president of managed care and contracts for Samaritan Health Services in Corvallis, Ore., a senior auditor for Arthur Andersen in Portland and a registered nurse for eight years.
