Anthony Cooper, CEO of Elmira, N.Y.-based Arnot Health, has announced plans to retire, effective Dec. 31, 2013, according to a Star Gazette report.
Arnot Health formed in 2011 from the merger of Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital, both in Elmira. The system also includes Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath, N.Y.
Mr. Cooper served as CEO of AOMC since 1986 and was named CEO of the new health system after its formation.
After Mr. Cooper's retirement at the end of next year, Robert K. Lambert, MD, will become Arnot Health's CEO, according to the report. Dr. Lambert has served as the president of Arnot Medical Services since 1996.
