North Carolina’s McDowell Hospital CEO Ed Hannon Resigns

Ed Hannon is resigning as CEO of McDowell Hospital in Marion, N.C., part of Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Health System, according to a McDowell News report.

He is leaving after nearly four years of leading the hospital to “pursue other opportunities,” according to the report.

Keith Holtsclaw, CEO of Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, N.C. — also a member of Mission Health System — and system CEO Ronald Paulus, MD, will lead an oversight group for McDowell Hospital. The group will manage the transition to a new CEO and review the strengths of the hospital.

Sonya Greck is serving as interim CEO, a role she also filled before Mr. Hannon’s appointment. Nan Tomsky, current administrative director of risk management and accreditation for Mission Health System, is serving as interim COO of McDowell Hospital.
