Mount Graham Regional Medical Center in Safford, Ariz., has found an interim leader to serve during the CEO’s extended absence, according to a hospital news release shared with Becker’s.
Chief Medical Officer Bart Carter, MD, will serve as interim CEO and administrator in charge, the hospital announced May 19.
CEO Roland Knox, a former baseball player, said he is “‘on injured reserve’ due to a health issue” and is temporarily “out of the lineup,” according to the release. Mr. Knox indicated he will return when he is “100%.”
Dr. Carter joined the center 27 years ago and also serves as district board chairman.
