Ardent Health CEO David Vandewater Elected Chairman of FAH

The Federation of American Hospitals has selected David Vandewater, president and CEO of Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent Health Services, as chairman, effective immediately.

Mr. Vandewater joined Ardent as chairman in 2001 when the company was called Behavioral Health Corp. His previous appointments include president and COO of Columbia/HCA Health Care (now Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America), CEO of Vista Hills Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, and executive vice president and COO of Republic Health Corp.

Mr. Vandewater previously served as FAH chairman in 1996. His appointment will last one year.
