Anna Jaques CEO Delia O’Connor announces retirement

Newburyport, Mass.-based Anna Jaques Hospital President and CEO Delia O’Connor has announced she plans to retire at the end of this year. Mark L. Goldstein, the hospital’s executive vice president and CFO, will take over as CEO as of Jan. 1, 2015.

Ms. O’Connor has served as the CEO and president of Anna Jaques Hospital for the past nine years, and has a 40-year career in healthcare. Under her leadership, AJH achieved eight consecutive years of operating surpluses and modernization of the entire campus. Additionally, the hospital has improved both quality and patient satisfaction scores during Ms. O’Connor’s tenure.

“One of the hallmarks of Delia’s leadership has been her commitment to constantly moving the organization forward,” Mr. Goldstein said. “I look forward to continuing this legacy of excellence and collaboration to achieve our vision of becoming the most respected community hospital in the region.”

Before joining AJH, Ms. O’Connor served as president of Caritas Norwood (Mass.) Hospital for seven years and as COO for Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Mass., for nine years.
