Allscripts promotes CFO to president, extends CEO Paul Black's contract

Chicago-based Allscripts is reorganizing its leadership structure with a promotion and a contract extension.

CFO Rick Poulton has been named president of the EHR vendor. Previously, CEO Paul Black also served as president.

Mr. Poulton will retain CFO title and responsibilities until the company names a successor.

Allscripts also extended Mr. Black's employment agreement. Originally set to expire in December 2015, the company extended it through at least 2018.

"These changes reflect the deep bench of talent at Allscripts and better position us to meet our long-term strategic goals, including growing our client base, investing in emerging growth markets, delivering consistent financial results, and ensuring efficient operations," Mr. Black said.
