Allegheny exec heads to RWJBarnabas Health

RWJBarnabas Health has appointed Amy Cotton, DNP, APRN, as senior vice president of quality and safety, the West Orange, N.J.-based system said June 4.

In her new role, Dr. Cotton will oversee RWJBarnabas’ quality and safety efforts, working to implement performance improvement programs and standardize best practices systemwide. 

She will report to Andy Anderson, MD, the system’s executive vice president and chief medical and quality officer. 

Dr. Cotton comes to the health system from Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network, where she most recently served as senior vice president of quality and safety. Prior to this role, Dr. Cotton was the vice president of care experience for HCA Healthcare’s South Atlantic division. Earlier in her career, she served as system vice president of patient engagement and chief experience officer for Northern Light Health in Brewer, Maine.
