Opelika, Ala.-based East Alabama Health has named Joseph Marchant executive vice president and chief integration and network development officer.
In the new role, Mr. Marchant will oversee clinical network development and lead outreach and growth initiatives to support integration of services, operations and care delivery across the system, according to an April 6 health system news release.
Mr. Marchant previously served as CEO of Bibb Medical Center in Centreville, Ala., for 15 years. During his tenure, he led expansion efforts at the 166-bed community hospital, including services such as skilled nursing, senior living, obstetrics, chronic care management and primary care.
East Alabama Health operates the 316-bed East Alabama Medical Center, a rural emergency hospital, a cancer center and several other facilities. The system employs about 4,100 people.
