AHA names CMO, president of Health Research and Educational Trust

The American Hospital Association has named Jay Bhatt, DO, as the CMO and president of the Health Research and Educational Trust.

In his new roles at HRET, DR. Bhatt will oversee clinical leadership and health improvement activities. He will also be in charge of AHA’s broader quality activities, including HRET, the Institute for Diversity in Health Management and the Association for Community Health Improvement.

Dr. Bhatt will join the AHA in September, coming from the Illinois Health and Hospital Association, where he is currently the chief health officer.

Dr. Bhatt earned his osteopathic medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also holds a master’s in public administration from Harvard University and a master’s in public health from the University of Illinois Chicago.
