Dr. Byrne most recently worked at Edward-Elmhurst (Ill.) Healthcare, initially serving as vice president and CIO. Earlier this year, she was named executive vice president and system chief medical and quality officer.
A pediatrician by training, Dr. Byrne formerly served as an attending physician at Children’s Memorial Medical Center (now Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago) and at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, also in Chicago.
She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She earned an MBA from Northwestern University.
In her new role, Dr. Byrne will oversee Advocate Health Care’s IT strategy and goals. Advocate operates nearly 400 care sites and 12 hospitals.
