Adventist promotes Lars Houmann to COO

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System has promoted Lars Houmann to COO, effective immediately, according to the Orlando Business Journal.

Previously, Mr. Houmann served as executive vice president for the system and president/CEO of its Florida division.

In his new role, Mr. Houmann will oversee Adventist’s hospital divisions, which include 46 hospital campuses across 10 states. He will also be responsible for systemwide operational functions that advance the patient care model.

Mr. Houmann has spent more than 25 years of his career at Adventist.

“I have worked with Lars for 20 years and am excited to have him as the second in command for AHS,” said Terry Shaw, who was appointed president and CEO of Adventist last week. “With him in this role, the entire organization will benefit from his tremendous experience and expertise running complex and sophisticated health care networks.”
