Gaithersburg, Md.-based Adventist HealthCare has named Opal Howard senior vice president and chief human resources officer .
Ms. Howard will join the health system’s senior leadership team and oversee human resources strategy across the organization, according to an Oct. 1 news release.
She joins Adventist HealthCare after more than 30 years in human resources leadership roles at Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth. Most recently, she served as senior vice president and chief people officer for AdventHealth’s East Florida Division, where she led workforce strategy for more than 12,000 employees.
Previously, Ms. Howard served as vice president of HR business operations for AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division, supporting more than 36,000 employees. She also served as vice president and HR business partner for AdventHealth’s North Region, where she led workforce initiatives aimed at reducing turnover and helped implement a new HR operating model.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Howard held executive director, director and associate director roles focused on regional integration, HR standardization, technology implementation and employee engagement.
