AdventHealth names Florida hospital COO

Joshua Champion has been appointed COO of AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach (Fla.), effective April 7.

Mr. Champion brings 15 years of leadership experience with Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth to the role, according to a March 26 health system news release.

He most recently served as vice president of ancillary services at AdventHealth Daytona Beach (Fla.), where he led a team of more than 850 employees. During his tenure, he played a key role in the hospital’s $220 million vertical expansion and the opening of a new ASC and medical office building.

In his new role, Mr. Champion will oversee hospital operations and continue to lead biomedical engineering across the seven hospitals in AdventHealth’s East Florida division.

He succeeds Khelsea Bauer, who was named president and CEO of AdventHealth DeLand (Fla.).
