AdventHealth names chief physician

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth has named Alric Simmonds, MD, chief physician executive, effective March 24.

In this role, Dr. Simmonds will oversee clinical physician strategies across the 53-hospital system, according to a news release sent to Becker’s. He will also lead efforts to improve clinician well-being and engagement. 

Dr. Simmonds, a board-certified breast cancer and endocrine surgeon, currently serves as chief health equity officer at AdventHealth and chief medical officer for AdventHealth Celebration hospital in Kissimmee, Fla. As chief physician executive, he will report to Michael Cacciatore, MD, AdventHealth’s chief clinical officer.
