AdventHealth hospital names COO

Joshua Champion was appointed COO of AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach (Fla.), effective April 7, according to a hospital news release shared with Becker’s.

Mr. Champion joined the New Smyrna Beach facility from AdventHealth Daytona Beach (Fla.), where he served as vice president of ancillary services.

In his new role, he will oversee hospital operations and the strategic development of services for community members, according to the release. He will also continue to oversee biomedical engineering for AdventHealth’s East Florida Division, among other responsibilities.

Mr. Champion succeeds Khelsea Bauer, who became president and CEO of AdventHealth DeLand in February.

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth includes 55 hospital campuses, more than 2,000 care sites and 100,000 team members.
