Here are five things to know about Dr. Sennett.
1. He is the only consumer liaison representative from an asthma and allergy organization.
2. In his new role, he will represent the interests of the more than 60 million Americans who live with asthma and/or allergic disease. Specifically, he will work with NAIC’s Consumer Liaison Committee, and other NAIC committees, to promote consumer protection for asthma and allergy patients, according to a news release.
3. Dr. Sennett joined AAFA in 2014.
4. Prior to joining AAFA, he held roles at the Brookings Institution and at the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
5. The announcement of Dr. Sennett’s new role comes as he gets ready to testify Jan. 21 before the Allergenic Products Advisory Committee of the Food and Drug Administration. Dr. Sennett will discuss the critical role of the patient in healthcare, drug and device development, research and policymaking.
