7 CEO changes in hospitals, health systems

The following CEO moves were covered by Becker’s Hospital Review within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Donna Katen-Bahensky, president and CEO of Madison, Wis.-based UW Hospital and Clinics, will retire Sept. 1. Her position will then be eliminated.  

2. UW Hospital & Clinics named COO Ron Sliwinski as interim president and CEO. David Walsh, chairman of the UW Hospital board, said the hospital needs leadership during planning for the restructuring, which is why an interim CEO was named.

3. Michael Rindler has resigned and will immediately retire from his role as CEO St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis.

4. Kevin Lawlor, president and CEO of Huntington (N.Y.) Hospital, will retire Dec. 31.

5. McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, Ore., named Chad Campbell CEO.

6. Matt Roberts is the new CEO of Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, La.

7. Karen Flaherty-Oxler is the new president of Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital, effective Aug. 18.
