Denver-Based Catholic Health Initiatives Names New CFO

Denver-based Catholic Health Initiatives, the nation’s second-largest Catholic health system, has named Dean Swindle as its new CFO and executive vice president, business services, effective May 17, according to a CHI news release.

Mr. Swindle currently serves as CFO at Novant Health System in Winston-Salem, N.C. In his new position, he will lead the overall strategic and business planning efforts for CHI’s 72 hospitals.

“I’m pleased to have an executive with Dean’s talent, background and experience join CHI,” Kevin Lofton, president and CEO of CHI, said in the release. “He possesses the expertise and business acumen to help CHI meet all of its most important strategic business objectives, including the organization’s focus on continued improvement of business process, revenue cycle management and overall financial performance.”

Mr. Swindle holds an MBA from Duke University Fuqua School of Business in Durham, N.C., and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
