CFO William Gorenstein: Standardizing Operations and Maximizing Contracts at Keck Hospital

William Gorenstein is CFO of Los Angeles-based Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital, the hospital flagships of the University of Southern California's health system.

William Gorenstein is CFO of Keck Hospital of USC.Mr. Gorenstein moved up to interim CFO in March 2012 after joining the financial team at USC in 2010. Since he began with Keck, he has worked collaboratively with physician leadership to realize opportunities associated with physician preference items and clinical documentation, worked with operations to better focus on labor management, and renegotiated several contracts with suppliers, service vendors and payers.

Prior to Keck, Mr. Gorenstein was vice president of financial operations at Duarte, Calif.-based City of Hope cancer research hospital. He'd held previous positions at the University of Pennsylvania for more than 20 years, helping the academic health system navigate a major financial turnaround.

Mr. Gorenstein, a CPA, earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Temple University.
