CFO Greg Johnston: Strengthening Baptist Health System's Performance

Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Ala., has grown and improved its operating performance this year under the leadership of Greg Johnston, the system's CFO and senior vice president.

Moody's Investors Service recently affirmed the "Baa2" rating assigned to Baptist's $198 million in bonds. The system has a stable outlook due to improved operating performance during the first nine months of fiscal year 2013, generating an 8.9 percent operating cash flow margin, according to Moody's.

Mr. Johnston has served Baptist in various leadership positions since joining the health system in 1991. Prior to obtaining his current position, he served as vice president of finance. Before joining Baptist, he was a controller at HealthSouth Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital in Birmingham.

He holds a bachelor's degree in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and is a certified public accountant.
