Al Naqvi — CFO and executive vice president of Decatur, Ill.-based Illinois Health & Science, the nonprofit holding company of Decatur Memorial Hospital and several other assets — has experience with financial management, behavioral finance, investment banking and technology.

naqviMr. Naqvi focuses on solving complex strategic and financial problems in the face of reimbursement cuts and building value through operational, financial and technological restructuring. He shares his insights through his CFO blog, "The Fiscal Cliff Survival Guide," where he tackles topics ranging from ICD-10 to accountable care organizations. He has also written a book on shareholder value, emphasizing behavioral finance and neuroscience — "Taming The Ticker: How to Link Trading Floor to Shop Floor to Improve a Company's Stock Value: A Comprehensive Manual for Shareholder Value Creation in the 21st Century."

Before joining Illinois Health & Science, he served as the CEO of PlanClear Company, which specializes in big data, financial advisory and strategy for the healthcare industry. He earned his MBA from the New York Institute of Technology and received executive leadership certification from the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business.
