CEO Colin McRae: Focused on Physicians at Jefferson Memorial Hospital

Colin McRae has served as CEO of Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, Tenn., since March 2013.

Before he took the helm at Jefferson Memorial permanently, Mr. McRae served as interim CEO for about two months. Prior to that, Mr. McRae was COO of Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn. Both Jefferson Memorial and Physicians Regional are part of Knoxville-based Tennova Healthcare.

Mr. McRae also served as COO of HCA facilities in Largo, Fla., and Kingwood, Texas, before moving to Tennessee.

Even though Mr. McRae has only led the system for a short time, he already has one issue he is paying keen attention to. "My focus will continue to be on business development with growth of the hospital's primary care physician program as well as the opportunity to recruit more specialists to the area," he said in a news release.

Mr. McRae earned a master's degree in healthcare administration from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
