Oschner launched the “Wear Your Health” challenge on July 30, as a part of New Orleans Entrepreneur Week. The health system is asking for entrepreneurs across the country to send in proposals for wearables and mobile applications designed to help manage chronic diseases and conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure, according to the report.
During the first phase of the challenge, 10 ideas will be selected. The startups behind the ideas will each receive a $1,000 prize. During the second phase, the ideas will be narrowed down to three. The three startups will compete for funding from a $15,000 pool, according to the report.
The winner will be named in March 2016.
