Welltok acquires messaging company Wellpass

Welltok, a healthcare data-driven, software-as-a-service company acquired Wellpass, provider of interactive, popular text-based programs.

Wellpass’ programs include Text4Baby, Text2Quit and Care4Life, which aim to improve consumer engagement in several areas, including prenatal care and diabetes management. The company works with numerous managed Medicaid plans, state Medicaid agencies and departments of health as well as providers and pharmaceutical companies.

Per the acquisition, Wellpass’ interactive programs and capabilities will be available along with Welltok’s full product suite.

The acquisition will expand Welltok’s presence in the managed Medicaid and government markets as well as adds text messaging capabilities and health programs into its consumer health activation platform. Additionally, Wellpass’ clients will be able to more effectively engage their members.
