Speaking during the 2018 VOICE Summit at the New Jersey Institute of Technology July 25, Mr. Greenberg said AI will eventually make a mark on healthcare, but “doctors don’t have to worry about robots replacing them” just yet. He added AI may be too limited to take on significant tasks in healthcare.
“Calculators did not eliminate the need for mathematicians, they just freed them up to perform higher tasks,” Mr. Greenberg said. In healthcare, this means AI will help physicians be more efficient in their day-to-day work, such as by providing voice technology to add information to an EHR.
