According to a statement from Vidant Health obtained by The Greenville Reflector, an outsider without authorization accessed personal information for employees at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, N.C.

A Vidant Health spokesman told The Greeneville Reflector he could not say how many employees were affected by the breach since the system is still investigating the situation.

The health system did not provide further information about the breach or how it may have occurred, saying only “Vidant has controls surrounding employees’ information. These controls worked to discover the unintended access and avoided additional information disclosure.”
