VA expands genomic testing for cancer patients

The Department of Veterans Affairs partnered with AI and precision medicine company Tempus to provide cancer patients with access to genetic testing to improve treatment.

Through a multiyear agreement, the VA's National Precision Oncology Program will have access to Tempus' AI-enabled tests and a portfolio of genomic data, according to a May 6 press release.

The partnership will allow physicians to make personalized treatment and decisions for patients with cancer.

Providers across the VA's 171 medical centers will have access to Tempus' tests including its solid tumor and normal assay and liquid biopsy assay.
