US lags behind in blockchain interest, ConsenSys analysis finds

The U.S. falls short of many other countries when it comes to overall interest in blockchain and Ethereum, according to a ConsenSys study and cited by CryptoGlobe.

ConsenSys is an Ethereum-focused development company. For its analysis on blockchain, the company compared search interests in regions throughout the world, studying the words bitcoin, cryptocurrency and other blockchain-related terms.

The U.S. fell behind in blockchain search term diversity, the study found. In the U.S., people most often (70 percent) search for Bitcoin. U.S. citizens only searched for cryptocurrency 13 percent of the time, and blockchain filled only 7 percent of searches.

Japan and South Korea showed the most online search interest in blockchain.
