UPS invests in blockchain platform: 5 notes

UPS Strategic Enterprise made an investment in Inxeption Corp., a developer of blockchain-for-business solutions.

Five notes:

1. Per the investment, UPS and Inxeption will create innovative new e-commerce solutions for blockchain-for-business sellers and buyers.

2. Inxeption designed one of the first blockchain-based e-commerce platforms that catalogs and digitizes product information. The technology integrates product design, manufacturing and supply chain.

3. With shipping solutions being an important factor in e-commerce, UPS and the blockchain expert will work to develop new solutions.

4. The blockchain platform also features real-time analytics for customers to monitor online sales, receive order statuses and get security notifications. Inxeption plans to introduce new solutions to the platform.

5. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.
