Updated electronic clinical quality measures available from CMS

CMS published its annual updates Friday for the electronic specifications of the Clinical Quality Measures. The updated specifications will be effective for reporting CQMs in calendar year 2016, according to AHA News.

The annual updates include new codes, logic corrections and clarifications. CMS will accept all versions of CQMs back to the December 2012 release to demonstrate meaningful use for the EHR Incentive Programs. For eReporting eCQMs for the Quality Reporting Programs, eligible professionals and hospitals must use the version indicated by CMS here.
