Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire software vendor MedSynergies.

MedSynergies practice management and revenue software is designed for physicians aligned with large hospital systems. The acquisition will expand Optum's software offerings for providers across the continuum of care.

"MedSynergies is a proven innovator in helping physician practices improve performance, and shares our commitment to supporting care providers in continually elevating the quality of patient care in the communities they serve," said Larry Renfro, CEO of Optum. "This relationship will position Optum to be an even stronger, more valued partner to care providers as they evolve, adapt and pursue new opportunities in a changing environment."
