Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group is seeking a full-time director of blockchain platform and applications development.
The open IT position, which was posted on the UnitedHealth Group website March 28, is housed in the payer's Optum Technology segment. The position's primary responsibilities will include oversight of technology application, management of a software team and development of systems related to blockchain.
"We are about to disrupt healthcare by applying blockchain technologies," the position description reads. "Here, innovation isn't about another gadget, it's about making healthcare data available wherever and whenever people need it, safely and reliably. There's no room for error."
The position qualifications include experience with scalable software systems, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and public-key cryptography. Other preferred professional experience includes blockchain, Hyperledger and bitcoin.
