Uber Health hired Lamis Hossain, former assistant general counsel for McKesson, as its legal director, according to a LinkedIn post Ms. Hossain published April 1.

Ms. Hossain served as assistant general counsel for McKesson’s health unit, McKesson Specialty Health, for nearly three years. Prior to her position as assistant general counsel, Ms. Hossain filled various additional counsel leadership positions at McKesson, including senior lead counsel of the pharmacy company’s distribution solutions division and chief counsel of its medical imaging and ambulatory division.

Uber launched Uber Health last year to partner with healthcare organizations and provide transportation for patients traveling to and from medical appointments. Its platform uses text messages to send passengers their ride information, rather than operating through an app, which allows Uber Health to abide by patient privacy laws outlined by HIPAA.
