UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention renews Cerner contract

The United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Health and Prevention will expand its relationship with health IT vendor Cerner.

Cerner and MOHAP have been partners since 2014.

Under the organizations' renewed and expanded contract, Cerner's services will be utilized in 17 UAE health facilities and 86 primary care clinics. In addition, Cerner will help MOHAP implement an anesthesia program and family license system for Dubai, UAE-based Al Baraha Hospital. MOHAP will also be able to use Cerner's centralized help desk, which is managed by Cerner associates.

"We renewed our agreement with Cerner to create an integrated national platform, enable the smooth exchange of health information, develop a uniform level of care across all Ministry facilities and work toward the improved delivery of healthcare throughout our state," said Awad Al Ketbi, assistant undersecretary of MOHAP's support services sector.
