The partnership will be focused on creating an electronic data exchange between athenahealth’s 30,000 providers who care for Humana members. The exchange will be powered by athenahealth’s exchange service and Transcend Insights’ HealthLogix health information exchange.
Through the collaboration, athenahealth and Humana will be able to exchange clinical data, thereby improving overall care coordination.
“This partnership will not only improve data exchange, but will also help providers and health plan partners collaborate more effectively in the transition to fee-for-value and pay-for-performance programs,” said athenahealth CEO Jonathan Bush.
