Executives say they are placing a higher priority on EHR optimization and workforce management over the next two years and deemphasizing digital health to improve the patient experience and operational solutions, according to the Jan. 22 report from Sage Growth Partners. The management consultant surveyed 108 C-suite leaders from hospitals and health systems.

Here are the top five health IT investments the leaders plan to make over the next one to two years:

1. Data/analytics: 42%

2. Cybersecurity: 41%

3. Revenue cycle: 37%

4. Operational efficiency: 27%

5. Patient access: 26%

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
