Thomas Health System to implement MEDITECH EHR: 3 things to know

Thomas Health System, based in Charleston, W. Va., plans to transition its hospitals to MEDITECH 6.1.

Here are three things to know.

1. Health IT consulting and services company Parallon will help the hospital make the EHR transition.

2. The health system’s Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, W. Va., currently uses Siemens Soarian, and its St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, W. Va., uses MEDITECH Magic.

3. “After evaluating a number of EHR systems, it became clear that the best way to meet our strategic objectives was to combine MEDITECH’s new integrated platform with Parallon’s hosting, implementation and operational shared services for technology,” said Thomas Health System CEO Dan Lauffer.
