With the increasing interest in wearables, companies are finding more innovative ways to rethink and add benefits to the technology, according to CNBC.
One such organization is BrainCo, a Somerville, Mass.-based startup. BrainCo's primary product — the Focus 1 headband — keeps track of users' concentration levels by monitoring brainwaves. The company hopes to use Focus 1 to lessen ADHD symptoms.
Leuven, Belgium-based Imec is also altering the wearable space. The company's unnamed prototype is a small adhesive strip that attaches to a user's chest and gauges individuals' heart rate and breathing. Imec wants to someday license the prototype to a consumer-centric company.
