The 10 fastest-growing tech, science jobs — No. 1 is statisticians

The pandemic has supercharged the science and technology industry, with jobs for statisticians projected to grow 35.4 percent in the next decade, according to an Oct. 11 CNBC report.

The data is based on information published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and project jobs growth from 2020 to 2030.

Below are the fastest-growing science and technology jobs and their projected growth rate:

1. Statisticians — 35.4 percent
Median pay: $92,270

2. Information security analysts — 33.3 percent
Median pay: $103,590

3. Data scientists and mathematical science occupations — 31.4 percent
Median pay: $98,230

4. Epidemiologists — 29.6 percent
Median pay: $74,560

5. Operations research analysts — 24.6 percent
Median pay: $86,200

6. Actuaries — 24.5 percent
Median pay: $111,030

7. Software developers and software quality assurance analysts, testers — 22.2 percent
Median pay: $110,140

8. Computer and information research scientists — 21.9 percent
Median pay: $126,830

9. Medical scientists (except epidemiologists) — 16.9 percent
Median pay: $91,510

10. Forensic science technicians — 15.6 percent
Median pay: $60,590
